This is a postally used, war time signed Hoffmann postcard of D÷nitz. It is glued to a piece of heavy black paper, and the former collector put the dates he won his Knight's Cross, and Oak Leaves. You can see the cancellation mark slightly protruding from the back. That is how I KNOW it was postally used. Perhaps somebody with skill & knowledge can remove the black paper, but to tell the truth, I like it the way it is. The over-all size is approx. 6" x 8", or approx. 15 cm x 21 cm. The signature is hard to scan, because of the color pencil he used to sign the postcard. However, the signature is DEEP & STRONG. Another indication that D÷nitz was younger when he signed it. I have enhanced the signature the best I could, to your left. It really is a very nice signature, not at all like the ones 30 years later - like I am also selling. Trust me - you will be able to easily see the signature. Scanners have their limitations.
